I love to call it a miracle in a bottle, that is what the ordinary AHA BHA peeling solution is .
At the time I came across this diamond in a bottle, I was tired of the skin on my face, most especially my forehead, it had this thick textured feeling that I honestly can’t explain. So here is the thing, anytime I try to blend in my foundation, it just wouldn’t blend around my forehead.
As the YouTube girl that I am, I knew any problem had a solution on the internet, and basically, one person out of a hundred has gone through that same problem.
So the journey to finding out the solution started. I came across this product on YouTube and you know how YouTube works. It kept recommending videos that talked about it.
What drew my attention at first was the color of the product I’m like why on earth would someone want to put something that looks like blood on their face, at that time it was all over YouTube and TikTok.
So I did my assignment by going to the website of The Ordinary to read more on the product and what benefits I would get if I eventually get the product which I actually did.
DESCRIPTION
The product, as described on The Ordinary website, contains Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) which exfoliate the skin’s topmost surface for a brighter and more even appearance. Beta hydroxy acids (BHA) also exfoliate the skin with an extended function to help clear pore congestion.
This combined 30% AHA and 2% BHA solution offers deeper exfoliation to help fight visible blemishes and for improved skin radiance.
The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture and reduces the look of fine lines with continued use.
And this was exactly what it did because I’m a black woman. I also wanted to be sure that it didn’t have a bleaching effect.
HOW TO USE
Instructions for use are written on the pack of the product but it says to wash your face and ensure it is dry and clean, you could experience a tingling effect at first but it goes away with time but if otherwise you are advised to wash it off immediately.
One thing I also remember was to do a patch test at first because some people’s skin can’t take the level of acid present in the product, so it’s better to do a patch test first before applying it all over your face.
The last thing it says is to leave for 10 minutes, after which you should wash your face.
And while using it, you should always wear your sunscreen because your skin gets more sensitive to sunlight, which could increase your chances of having sunburn.
MY REVIEW
Honestly, I’m not done with the current bottle, but if you ask me if I would be getting another, my answer will definitely be yes.
It was a win-or-lose situation for me, but the ordinary AHA BHA peeling solution did it and I’m glad I tried it.
At first, when I started using it, I felt this tingling sensation, but it disappeared with time, I didn’t see the effect of the product but we all know that is what skincare is, you only get to see the result over time, and not instantly.
I got a bottle for 5500 naira in Nigeria from a page I found on Instagram that sells authentic skincare products.
PROS
- It helped improved my skin texture ( which was the selling point to me)
- It brighten my skin appearance not bleach
- Because it’s an exfoliator it cleared my pores and gave my face a lift. ( I used it with the ordinary niacinamide solution)
- It’s also affordable
- It lasts for a long period of time because you get to use it twice a week
Honestly, I do not have any cons for this product.
