No lies here, but it’s challenging to start your week as a student and get back into the swing of things after a relaxing weekend. You know that feeling when you look at the day of the week, and it’s Sunday, and you can’t help but shout out loud wasn’t yesterday Friday?

Mondays sometimes can feel like a hurdle to jump over, especially as a student, but you can always get through the week if you start with actionable and realistic steps. Here are some strategies to kick start your week as a student.

Reflect and Plan.

To have a great week, it’s crucial to set the tone right and take some time off for reflection and planning by setting aside a few minutes on Sunday evening or early Monday morning to assess the previous week’s accomplishments and identify areas that need improvement.

Reflecting on your achievements from the previous week helps boost your motivation and provides insights into what worked and requires to be adjusted.

To start, you can plan your week using a to-do list, outlining your objectives for the week, and how you intend to track your progress.

Breaking your goals into manageable steps can help reduce the tension and anxiety that comes with starting a new week, which will ensure a smooth transition into the week.

To have control over your week to a large extent, employ tools such as to-do lists, calendars, or productivity apps to organize your priorities effectively.

Prioritize Your Daily Task.


As a student, it’s crucial to prioritize your tasks effectively. This was something I battled with when I was in my final year in uni, but ever since I started using this daily planner, it’s been smooth sailing.

Remember, when prioritizing, you want to identify the most critical tasks that have pressing deadlines and time block some hours in the day to focus on them. 

By prioritizing effectively, you can tackle important assignments with confidence and avoid feeling overwhelmed.

This approach allows you to make informed decisions about where to invest your time and energy and helps you start your week at a reasonable speed.

Healthy Habits for Monday Morning


Having a healthy Monday habit is one of the strategies to kick start your week as a student. Nurturing your well-being is crucial for starting your week on a positive note, what I love to call garbage in, garbage out.

Develop good habits by staying away from your phone when you wake up. Go for a walk or read a book. To have a great week, your mind needs to be nourished with the right things.

Dedicate time on Monday mornings to engage in activities that refresh your mind and body. Consider incorporating exercises, meditation, or mindfulness practices into your routine.

Fuel your body with a nutritious breakfast, as a healthy and balanced diet can significantly affect your energy levels and logical function throughout the day.

Time Management Techniques


Time management is crucial for starting your week on the right track. Implement strategies such as time blocking, batching similar tasks together, and minimizing distractions.

 Leverage technology like calendar apps or task management software to schedule and track your activities.

Many individuals struggle with the “Monday blues.” Get rid of this by cultivating a positive mindset and finding motivation.

Take breaks throughout the day to engage in activities you enjoy, it will help boost your mood and motivate you.
